They can be used during travels, particular on a long journey with children aboard.

The travel pillow must be very comfortable, particularly if there are any children traveling with the adults. Particularly memory foam pillows are very useful in mimicking the comfort of the bed at home, and they usually give a very pleasant journey experience.

Memory Foam as an Orthopedic pillow

Orthopedic pillows are usually available in two types: displacement and supportive. Displacement pillows are those that easily accommodate the shape of the neck and head. One of these pillows is made of memory foam. There are also other displacement pillows filled with air or water, however memory foam pillows are mostly used.

Supportive pillows are mostly made of foam and fibers and they are not so comfortable to the neck. They offer, however, a firmer and stronger neck support. Anyone who had recent surgery in that area will appreciate supportive pillows. For the rest though, memory foam displacement pillows are the better option.

Memory Foam Pillow Benefits

Memory foam, also called visco-elastic foam is a very durable material that easily adjusts to the body shape. It takes the body contours even. This means that it easily relieves the body pressure in the head, neck and shoulders area and relieves any existing pain. Keeping the backbone in perfect balance, it accelerates the circulation of the blood. This particular foam material reduces tension in the body and as a result, the pillows will hold its shape and remain comfortable and cool for the person. So regardless of the temperature in the sleeping area, the pillow will be extremely comfortable to put the head on. Several models have button clasps that help to prevent the pillow from slipping off the person’s shoulders.

An additional benefit of memory foam travel pillows is that they alleviate headaches as well as migraines. In addition, memory foam pillows are extremely helpful for people suffering from lack of sleep, allowing individuals to minimize tossing and turning around. This means increased rest during the travel and a much more pleasant travel experience.

This pillow usually comes with a pillow case that is hypoallergenic and easily machine washable. Also the pillow itself is very easy to take care of. Wiping off the foam with a damp cloth is usually all it takes. Afterwards it simply needs to be let dry in the open air.

There are various brands of travel pillows made of memory foam on the market, and it’s important to do a bit of research before buying one. As many such pillows come with a lifetime warranty and they are cheaper than other models as well, a due diligence will help buy the best memory foam travel pillow that one can have.

I saw a website that shows satin pillowcases for memory foam pillows and they do custom size pillowcases as well. Maybe they make them for the size neck pillow you have a picture of. The company is A Touch of Satin.
